Moving liquids vertically against gravity is something plants have done for millennia. But moving single droplets is substantially more difficult, but an important step in certain microfluidic applications. Xiaoxiao (now Prof. Zhao at UMaine) and co-author’s latest study gives a new method for moving droplets against gravity, with some important design principles uncovered for doing so. Cool stuff.
